ONTOLOGY Kit Rates
ONTOLOGY PCR Kits are offered in batches of 10 plates. If used to generate DNA barcode data for upload to BOLD, the kits can be purchased at the Research Rate. Kits used for commercial purposes, metabarcoding, or where data will not be uploaded to BOLD are sold at the Standard Rate. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
PCR kits come with 10 temporary plate seals, 10 foil plate seals, 10 PCR plate seals, and 10 PCR plates pre-loaded with freeze-dried PCR reagents.
No data sharing requirements. Ideal for non-research use or multiplexed metabarcoding.
$1000Academic/research use only. Purchase requires agreement to ONTOLOGY™ Research Rate Data Agreement (ORRDA). Data generated must comply with CBG/BOLD standards.
$500Subsidized rate for researchers in Low- and Middle-Income Countries. All Research Rate obligations apply.
$300Includes concentrated Lysis & Neutralization buffers; empty 50 mL tubes for diluted buffers, 10 temporary plate seals, 10 foil plate seals, and 10 PCR plate seals.
$100/$200*** Purchase of multiple kits requires verified User Status – First Research Rate kit can be purchased without restrictions. Verified status is earned by submitting records meeting ORRDA requirements.

Shipping and handling are not included. For new users, payment must be received by the Centre for Bidiversity Genomics before shipment.

Shipping Rates
ONTOLOGY kits ship at room temperature via FedEx. Shipping rates are estimated at the time of invoicing, but rates for a single kit are approximated below. Please indicate during ordering if a courier service other than FedEx is required. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
